The mixed alkane dehydrogenation of 250,000 tons/year and ancillary facility project of 4720 Nm³/h PSA hydrogen production unit for Chambroad Petrochemicals for which HCIST provided technology package and Huadong Engineering designed successfully operated at the first attempt on April 1, 2015.
The mixed alkane dehydrogenation of 250,000 tons/year project for Chambroad Petrochemicals was the first set in China. And the ancillary facility project of 4720 Nm³/h PSA hydrogen production unit used the proprietary adsorbents and PSA technologies independently developed by HCIST. The hydrogen was separated and purified from alkane dehydrogenation exhaust by PSA to produce H2 with a purity≥99.9%.
The core technology used in this unit was independently developed by HCIST and had the following features: (1) proven and reliable technology, product of high purity and yield, stable operation period, simple operation and maintenance, less operation costs; (2 ) use a proprietary sorbent provided by HCIST, having high utilization rate, saving unit investment; (3) use advanced special software, allowing automatic and non-interfering trouble shooting by removing the failed absorber and carrying out non-stop online maintenance, thus greatly improving the unit reliability.
The hydrogen extraction unit set a precedent for pressure swing adsorption technology used in dehydrogenation by mixed alkanes, and was of great importance.
